What is Protexx?
Protexx is an identity management company whose initial focus is securing data in motion. In today's mobile workforce
environment, the most serious security problem we face is that our data is vulnerable to theft and fraud at various points
along the data stream. It doesn't matter whether you are using an internet hot spot, connecting at home through your DSL or
cable connection, or if you are using satellite, initiating a VPN handshake or applying 128 bit protection for online banking,
it is all at risk.
When you consider that next to dumpster diving, electronic data theft is the next killer app for fraud and identity theft.
It is easy to see that the odds of one becoming a potential victim are pretty good. While no product does it all, Protexx
can assist in the development of any security architecture and protocol by encrypting all of your information from the time
you hit the enter or send button on your computer.
The problem is that all information leaving your computer, either through your wireless or wired connection, is vulnerable
to attack. You cannot stop anyone from intercepting your packets of data as they pass through the network. The only thing
you can do to protect yourself is to encrypt all of your packets as soon as you hit enter.
From there, while your information and data can still be intercepted, Protexx data guard security instantly encrypts
those packets, rendering them useless to the most skillful hacker or identity thief. This does not mean that your packets
can not be stolen, it means that if they are stolen, they will be scrambled and unreadable.
This is an example of how a hacker operates:
Without Protexx security running, prying eyes are waiting to follow you when you establish your connection to your computer.
Your computer needs to establish your IP address and credentialing information. You are now under attack. The hacker or thief
can follow you wherever you visit and intercept or create an evil twin or man in the middle attack against you, using your
own personal data.
With the Protexx security software enabled, by simply clicking on the Protexx icon in your system tray, the IP of your
computer is now a personal Protexx IP that fools the criminals by directing them to our 2048 bit protected firewall. The thief
hacks that IP thinking he is tracking you but instead is led to a dead end path in our Tier 1 secure Network operating center.
You are now safe and anonymous on the Internet, while Protexx back end security features create a log of the attempted attack
against your ID.
Here is an example of how this is being done without your awareness or authorization:
Let's go to the Internet. Go to
http://www.google.com. Notice that before your Protexx secure connection is established, you are broadcasting your computers IP address and credentials.
Now that IP address is connected to an access point which is local to you.
Type in a search phrase as generic as Chevrolet or truck and click enter. Notice on the sponsored links you have been
tracked to deliver local search results for your entered generic preference. Google has tracked you back to your location.
Now enable the Protexx security software and try the same process. You will notice that once the secure connection to
Protexx is established, our data guard dog starts his patrol across your screen, turning the red light to a yellow caution
light after 3-5 seconds, depending on connection speed. The data guard dog is now alert and establishes your personal secure
IP address.
Now go back to Google and type in Chevrolet or truck again. Notice the sponsored search results are routed to our secure
server location, tricking the tracking software into thinking you are somewhere you are not. You have now become invisible.
